Family Photographer Manchester
Beautiful, natural photography that celebrates the legacy of familyFamily is one of life’s greatest blessings, and I believe your portraits should reflect that, full of love, genuine connection, and the particular joy of being together right now.
I am Rebekah, a family photographer based in Greater Manchester. All of my sessions take place outdoors, in natural surroundings that give your portraits warmth, depth, and a real sense of life. My aim is to make the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable, so that what I capture feels like you, not a performance.
Whether you are a young family with small children, a larger group spanning several generations, or something in between, I would love to photograph you.
Family Portraits
What to Expect from Your Session
If you are drawn to natural, relaxed family portraits where the images feel genuine and the experience itself is something you enjoy, you are in exactly the right place.
When we start planning your session, I will help you find a location that suits your family. It might be a local park with beautiful seasonal colour, a quiet woodland path, a reservoir, or somewhere that holds a particular meaning for you. I cover the whole of Tameside and Greater Manchester , and I am happy to make recommendations if you are not sure where to start.
Rather than staying in one spot, we move around during the session. This helps everyone to settle, particularly younger children, and it gives the photographs variety and a natural sense of movement. I will guide you gently throughout, but there is always plenty of space for things to unfold in their own way. Some of the best images come from the moments in between.
My aim is to make your session feel like a good morning out, and to give you photographs that remind you, for years to come, of exactly how it felt to be together at this point in your lives.
“Lovely friendly photographer, we really enjoyed our experience! Fantastic photos!“
Irina, family portrait session, Stalybridge
Why I Photograph Families Outdoors
I have always believed that natural light and open space bring out the best in people and in photographs. Outdoors, families move freely, children explore, and the kind of genuine moments I love to capture tend to happen without any encouragement at all. The changing seasons, the quality of light, the sense of space, none of it can be replicated indoors.
Whether your session takes place in spring blossom, the golden colours of autumn, or the clear light of a winter morning, the natural world provides a backdrop that is always beautiful and always yours.
If the weather is not on our side, do not worry. I keep a close eye on the forecast and will happily rearrange your session to give us the best possible conditions.

Family Portrait Locations Across Greater Manchester
As a family photographer covering Manchester, Greater Manchester, and the surrounding area, I know this part of the world well. When choosing your location, I will help you find somewhere that suits the size and feel of your family, and that gives your portraits a natural, beautiful setting.
Some of my favourite locations include:
Stamford Park, Stalybridge A beautiful Victorian park with a boating lake, open lawns, and mature trees that come alive with colour in autumn. A wonderful choice for families based in Tameside.
Alexandra Park, Oldham A spacious, well-kept park with open areas and tree-lined paths, offering a calm and natural backdrop whatever the season.
Alexandra Park, Manchester A quieter, more intimate park with a lovely variety of settings. Particularly beautiful in spring and autumn.
Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens, Manchester One of the most photogenic outdoor locations in Greater Manchester. The gardens offer a lush, layered backdrop with real depth and character. I love this place so much that I even did some of my own wedding photographers here.
Tandle Hill Country Park, Oldham Open countryside with sweeping views across Greater Manchester. A great choice for families who want something that feels a little different.
Reddish Vale Country Park, Stockport A hidden gem with river paths, meadows, and woodland. Relaxed and natural, perfect for families who want to explore during their session.
Heaton Park, Manchester One of the largest municipal parks in Europe, with a huge variety of settings from formal gardens to open parkland and woodland.
Longford Park, Manchester A classic, well-kept park with open spaces and beautiful mature trees. A versatile choice for all family sizes.
The Burrs Country Park, Bury A riverside park with a lovely mix of open grassland, woodland, and water. Relaxed and naturally beautiful in every season.
If you have a location in mind that is not listed here, I am very happy to discuss it. I love working in new places and will always make the most of wherever you choose.
