The Heart Behind My Photography

“I believe I have been given a gift in photography, and my purpose is to use it to bless others, especially during once-in-a-lifetime events like weddings.

I am driven by the belief that everyone deserves natural, authentic, and beautiful images, whether captured during a wedding or a family session, these photos serve as a lasting bridge to your most cherished memories.

The reason I do this is because I understand what a photograph becomes when life changes. When a person is no longer there, a simple image transforms into a priceless, tangible reminder of a life. I take the responsibility of capturing your pictures seriously because I want to be the photographer you are grateful for, not just today, but in the years to come when those images are what you treasure most”

Beyond the Camera

I have lived in Tameside, Greater Manchester since 2010, though Birmingham will always be where my story began.

I am married to Daniel (truly one of the good ones) and am a very proud step-mum to George. Over the years, we have somehow collected over 100 board games, and some of our best evenings are spent around the table together.

Before photography became my full-time focus, I worked in education for eight years as a Teaching Assistant. It was challenging, but seeing young people grow in confidence and achieve something they once thought they could not remains one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

I discovered I was dyslexic at nine, which made school a little harder than it should have been. Later, I went on to complete a degree in Theology and a postgraduate diploma in Education, something my younger self (and probably a few teachers!) would never have expected.

I love a good cup of coffee and a slice of cake, one of life’s simple pleasures. I also love exploring new places, especially foreign cities, where wandering unfamiliar streets with a camera in hand always feels inspiring.

When I’m not photographing people, you’ll usually find me capturing landscapes. Dove Stone Reservoir is one of my favourite local spots, the light there is incredible.

I have climbed Snowdon twice, the second time with seven-year-old George, who handled it like a true champion. Some of our best memories, though, have come from completely unplanned adventures, piling into the car late at night to try and catch the Northern Lights at Dove Stone, or heading to Penmon to see the bioluminescent plankton glowing along the shoreline. I love those moments that are not scheduled, just experienced. That is where my love of photography truly lives, noticing the beauty in moments that do not last forever.

And yes… I can quote most episodes of Friends. Some things never change.
