What to Expect From Your Wedding PhotographerWhen you are planning your wedding, knowing what to expect from your wedding photographer makes everything feel calmer and more enjoyable. I want you to feel completely confident and at ease from the very first conversation, right through to the moment your gallery lands in your inbox. Below, I have outlined exactly how the experience works when you book me as your wedding photographer, so you know what happens at every stage and nothing comes as a surprise.
1. Check my availability
I would love to hear about your wedding plans. If you are interested in having me capture your day, please fill out my contact form with a few key details, such as your wedding date and location. I will get back to you as soon as possible to let you know whether I am available and to share the next steps with you.
2. Complete your wedding questionnaire
If I am available for your date, I will send over a short wedding questionnaire. This is a lovely way for me to get to know you both a little better and to understand your vision for the day, the style, the details, and what matters most to you.
3. Meet your Photographer
The next step is to arrange a call over Zoom, so we can meet and get to know each other properly. We will talk through the details of your day, discuss which package would suit you best, and make sure you have plenty of time to ask any questions you have.
4. Booking
When you are ready to book, I will send you a contract to sign and an invoice for your deposit. A 30% deposit and a signed contract are all that is needed to secure your date. Once those are in place, your date is officially reserved and we can begin looking forward to your wedding day together.
5. One Month till the Wedding
At this stage, your final payment is due. Do not worry, I will send you a reminder in plenty of time. Once I have received it, I will be in touch to ask for your list of formal group shots. This helps me make sure I capture every important person you would like included in your photographs, with nobody missed.
6. Final Zoom Call
After I receive your group shot list, I will arrange one final Zoom call During this call, I will confirm all the up-to-date details of your day, review your formal group shots with you, and answer any remaining questions you may have. By the end of this call, everything will be in place and you can relax knowing your day is fully planned.
7. Your Wedding Day
Today is all about you. I will arrive calm, prepared, and ready to capture every special moment, from the exchange of vows and your first kiss, to the cutting of the cake and the joyful celebrations that follow.
When it is time for your group photographs, I will have your photo list ready and your chosen helper on hand to make sure every picture is captured smoothly and without fuss.
We will also take a little time away from the celebrations for your couple portraits. This is a beautiful opportunity for you both to enjoy a quiet moment together, to breathe, to soak it all in, and to simply be with one another. It is a moment many couples tell me they treasure above all others from their day.
After that, I will continue to capture the rest of your day as it unfolds naturally, all the real smiles, happy tears, and joyful moments that make your wedding uniquely yours.
8. Your sneak peek
I know how hard it is to wait to see your photographs. Within one week of your wedding day, I will share a selection of some of the most beautiful images from your day, so you do not have to wait long to relive those first precious memories.
With your permission, I may also share a small number of these on my Facebook and Instagram pages. You are always in control of what is shared publicly, and anything you wish to keep private will remain so.
9. The Editing
I will spend careful time editing your images in my signature style, producing a collection of consistent, beautiful photographs that you will love for years to come. I will also include a selection of black and white images, as there is something classic and elegant about them that suits certain moments perfectly.
I aim to deliver your full gallery within four weeks (eight weeks between June – August) of your wedding day, though during peak season this may take a little longer. I will always keep you informed.
10. The Gallery Reveal
This is my favourite part of the whole experience. I will send you an email with everything you need to access your online gallery, where all of your high resolution images will be waiting for you.
From there, you are free to download your photographs, print them, and share them however you choose. You are also very welcome to share your gallery login with close friends and family so they can enjoy your photographs too.
11. Keepsakes and Prints
Please do not let your beautiful wedding photographs live only on a screen. From your gallery, you can purchase prints, canvases, and bespoke wedding albums, perfect for your own home or as a truly meaningful gift for family.
Having your photographs printed means you can enjoy them every single day. On your walls, in your hands, and in a beautiful album you can return to whenever you wish. It is a wonderful way to keep your memories alive, to share your day with visiting friends and family, and one day to show your children and grandchildren how your love story began.
