I had been eagerly anticipating this trip for months - a chance to capture the stunning views of New York City. Our first destination was the Empire State Building late in the afternoon.

Upon arriving at the Empire State Building, the view was absolutely breath taking. I quickly set up my camera and began taking photos, but my young nephew was struggling with exhaustion and hunger from our drive up from Washington DC that morning. He kept trying to lie down, which made navigating the crowded top floor difficult for him. Despite being in the midst of such a magnificent sight, he just couldn't fully appreciate it in his tired state.

Recognizing that it was overwhelming for him, my sister decided to take him and her older son to grab some food while I continued with my photography. The timing was perfect as the lighting was transitioning from golden hour to blue hour, offering the opportunity to capture the city at its finest.
As I snapped away, the sensory experience of the Empire State Building was amazing. The city sprawled out before me, a dazzling playground of twinkling lights and bustling streets. The cool breeze and sound of the city below heightened the experience, and the setting sun gave way to the bright lights of Times Square and surrounding buildings.

I became so engrossed in my photography that I nearly missed the meal my sister had ordered for me. However, I couldn't bring myself to leave when the lighting was so perfect, so I continued taking shots from every angle. As the golden light transitioned into blue, the city transformed into a magical, glowing wonder.

When I finally packed up my camera and rushed to meet my family at the restaurant, I was met with an incredible meal - the best steak I had ever tasted. I was grateful for my sister's encouragement to continue taking pictures, as it resulted in some truly unforgettable shots that continue to transport me back to that happy moment at the top of the Empire State Building watching the one of the greatest cities on earth transform from day to night.
