Prior to our first visit to Cornwall a number of friends recommended Polzeath beach. It should have only being a 20-minute drive from where we were staying, but due to a damage bridge it would take us twice as long to take the long way around.

After we got there we head down for our first full day and enjoyed our day playing in the sea, my stepson tried out body boarding but just didn’t like it so we ended up just swimming and jumping him over the waves.

It was such a lovely beach and because we didn’t stay to watch the sunset we planned to visit it again. Near the end of our holiday the three of us headed down once again with the sole purpose to watch the sunset.

During our evening on Polzeath beach I was walking around taking in the views and exploring the different angles of the sunset and what they looked like from my camera’s perspective, something that I do a lot with landscape photos.

This was while my husband and stepson where just enjoying the stunning sunset while also running around and being silly. I love that we get to enjoy these beautiful moments together. The blue and orange of the sky and reflections on water where a view to behold.

Out of the few nights that we chose to spend on the beach watching sunsets, this night, again was a great night to watch and experience the colours and feel the cool sea breeze as we spent time there.

Quite quickly I noticed this boat floating on the horizon and I knew it would create an extra special detail to what was already a beautiful scene. The silhouette of the cliffs, the island and the boat enhanced the view unveiling in front of us. We really where so lucky that night to see such a beautiful scene.
