Formby Beach Sand Dunes and Path, Liverpool.

One of my favourite things to do as a professional photographer is going on trips to beautiful places and capturing their glory. This time, I had a special adventure planned - a trip to Formby Beach at sunset, and I was thrilled to bring my husband and stepson along.

Seeing sunsets and sunrises has become a lovely tradition for my family, so I was thrilled they were joining me on this adventure.
We planned a trip to Formby Beach at sunset. I had been there before and loved it, but now I wanted to capture it with a stunning sunset.

But the weather seemed against us every time we planned the trip. Cloudy skies and pouring rain spoiled our plans repeatedly. Despite the setbacks, we never gave up hope, constantly checking the weather for the perfect day.

Then, on Good Friday, it finally happened and the weather was looking great! I was excitement for the upcoming adventure. We decided to head down a bit earlier and walk through the Formby Red Squirrel Reserve before reaching the beach for the sunset.

Everything seemed perfect, but there was a challenge - my husband and I had caught a pretty bad cold. Still, we were determined to go. At first, it went well, but as we walked along the trail, my husband got so exhausted and we were torn, unsure whether to continue or head back home.  His health was more important, after all.  At that moment, my husband suggested we'd head back to the car, grab our folding chairs, and relax on the beach. Our little someone, full of energy, played football while we eagerly awaited the sunset.

While anticipating the perfect moment, I scouted for the best spot to shoot from. That's when it hit me - the boardwalk leading to the beach! It was the ideal place to capture the sunset and showcase Formby's stunning sand dunes.  As the sun dipped low, it painted the sky with beautiful hues of orange and pink.. The sight was breath taking, and I couldn't have been happier with the images I captured.

Despite the barriers and challenges we faced, we never gave up on our adventure. And it paid off! This journey taught us that perseverance can turn any obstacle into an extraordinary experience.

HOW ARE PRINTS MEASURED?

Prints are measured at the photo itself and do not include a border.
