Tom & Leanne’s Church Wedding at Metro Christian Centre, Bury
By Rebekah Morecroft, wedding photographer specialising in traditional church weddings
Tom and Leanne’s beautiful church wedding at Metro Christian Centre in Bury was a day filled with faith, joy, and meaningful moments shared with their closest family and friends.
As a wedding photographer specialising in traditional church weddings, it was such an honour to be trusted with capturing their day, especially knowing they booked me early in my journey.
From the very beginning, their story was centred on faith, family, and a deep sense of commitment, something that truly shaped every part of their wedding day.
Morning Preparations
I met Leanne and her bridal party at a friend’s home, where the morning unfolded in a calm and joyful atmosphere. When I arrived, the final touches were underway, the perfect time to capture those meaningful details: her bouquet, jewellery, and carefully chosen accessories.
Once everyone was ready, we created some beautiful, relaxed portraits of Leanne with her bridesmaids and her mum, moments full of excitement and anticipation.
A Heartfelt Church Ceremony in Bury
Tom and Leanne were married at Metro Christian Centre in Bury, surrounded by a church full of people who clearly love and support them deeply, including a guest who had travelled all the way from America to be there.
One of the most emotional moments of the day was watching Leanne walk down the aisle with her father. She had shared beforehand that this was something very important to her, though uncertain if it would be possible. Seeing it happen, the pride, the joy, was incredibly moving.
Their Christian faith was beautifully woven throughout the ceremony, led by Pastor Tristan, with hymns, a meaningful sermon, and a special blessing from Reverend Samuel. It was a truly personal and faith-filled service.
Family Photographs at Metro Christian Centre & St. Stephen’s Church, Elton
After the ceremony, we began by capturing formal family photographs inside Metro Christian Centre, making the most of having everyone together in one place. We then continued with additional family and wedding party photographs outside at St. Stephen’s Church in Elton, allowing for a wider variety of groupings in a more relaxed setting. These moments are always so important, especially at traditional church weddings, bringing generations together and preserving those relationships in a meaningful and timeless way.
Couple Portraits at St. Stephen’s Church, Elton
Following this, we took some time for Tom and Leanne’s couple portraits around St. Stephen’s Church. This location held particular significance, as Tom often plays the organ there, making it a natural and meaningful choice for their photographs. It added another layer of depth to the day, beautifully reflecting their shared faith and personal story.
Reception at Dobbies Sport & Social Club
The celebrations continued at Dobbies Sport & Social Club, where Tom and Leanne were welcomed into a lively and joyful reception.
The evening was filled with energy, thanks to live music from Regener8, an 80’s tribute band. From the moment the dance floor opened , starting with a first dance that invited guests to join them, it stayed full all night.
It was a privilege to capture Tom and Leanne’s wedding day. From the heartfelt moments within the church to the joy of celebrating alongside their family and friends, every part of the day reflected their faith and the life they are building together.
If you are planning a church wedding in Bury or the surrounding areas and value photography that is both thoughtful and unobtrusive, I would love to hear more about your plans.
