Aaron and Lauren’s Bury Registry Office wedding at Bury Town Hall was one of those days that stayed with me long after I drove home. As a wedding photographer, I was photographing at Bury Town Hall for the first time, and I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. The ceremony room is a stunning space, with a glass roof that floods the room with beautiful natural light and elegant décor that feels perfectly suited to a wedding celebration.

From the moment I arrived, the day had a warmth and a calm about it that carried through from beginning to end.

A Calm Start at Bury Town Hall

Aaron arrived at Bury Town Hall in a Range Rover, while Lauren and the bridal party made their way there in a sleek white Mercedes. Guests gathered outside, chatting and enjoying the anticipation of the morning as everyone arrived.

I spent this time moving quietly among the guests, capturing Aaron with the wedding party, their children, and all the natural interactions that happen when people who love each other are gathered together in one place. As a wedding photographer in Greater Manchester, I find that these quieter moments before a ceremony often set the tone for the entire day. They are full of genuine connection, and Aaron and Lauren’s day was no exception.

Waiting for Lauren

As the moment drew closer, I waited alongside the bridal party for Lauren to arrive with her father.

One of the most memorable moments of the entire day came before the ceremony had even begun. As Lauren arrived, their son spotted his mum and his face lit up instantly with pure joy and excitement. It was one of those real, unplanned moments that no amount of planning can create, and I felt so fortunate to capture it.

The ceremony itself was full of warmth, laughter, and genuine emotion from start to finish.

As soon as Lauren reached the top of the aisle, Aaron could not contain his joy and kissed her straight away, before the ceremony had even formally begun. It brought smiles and laughter from every corner of the room and set a beautifully warm tone for everything that followed.

During the ring exchange, Lauren began to place Aaron’s ring on his finger before the officiant had finished speaking, which sent laughter rippling through the room in the most natural and joyful way. These are the moments that make a wedding day feel truly alive, and they are the moments I treasure most as a photographer.

As a Bury registry office wedding photographer, the ceremony room at Bury Town Hall immediately struck me as one of the most beautiful registry office spaces I have photographed in. The glass roof draws in soft, natural light throughout, and the elegant surroundings give every photograph a quiet beauty without any effort at all.

After the ceremony, we stepped outside Bury Town Hall where guests gathered for a joyful confetti celebration. Everyone came together around Aaron and Lauren as they walked through the confetti line, surrounded by the people they love most. It was a lively, happy, and genuinely beautiful moment to photograph.

Family Photographs and Time with Loved Ones

From there, we made our way to the Whitehead Garden for the group photographs. This is always an important part of any wedding day. These are the portraits that will be printed, framed, displayed on walls, and passed down through generations. I always give proper time and care to this part of the day, making sure every important person is included and that everyone feels relaxed and at ease throughout.

Aaron and Lauren were surrounded by people who clearly adored them, and that love and warmth came through in every photograph.

Couple Portraits at Whitehead Garden, Bury

From there, we made our way to Whitehead Garden to make the most of the beautiful sunshine for Aaron and Lauren’s couple portraits. The gardens, together with Bury’s clock tower, provided a genuinely lovely backdrop, and gave Aaron and Lauren a few quieter moments together after the celebrations.

As a wedding photographer, I always aim to keep couple portraits natural, genuine, and beautifully composed. I guide couples gently rather than directing them rigidly, so that the photographs reflect how the day actually felt rather than how it was arranged to look. These are so often the photographs couples return to most, not just because they are beautiful, but because they capture something true.

A Day Full of Genuine Connection

Although Aaron and Lauren had booked a few hours of coverage, every single minute was full of moments worth capturing. From the laughter during the ceremony to the family portraits in the Winter Gardens, the confetti outside Bury Town Hall, and the quiet moments during their couple portraits at Whitehead Garden, their Bury registry office wedding was a day full of love, joy, and genuine celebration.
